The Scenario:

A vintage car will take Tom Chaplin on a road trip through Bexhill which culminates in a huge party when his car reaches The Sovereign Light Cafe. The aim will be to create a heartfelt portrait of a much loved town and a joyful celebration of English Life.

A call for participants:

Details : There is an urgent call for anyone with a classic bicycle and vintage costume to be filmed for Keane’s Sovereign Life Cafe video.

There are two locations that we are required for filming: 2pm at The Amusement Arcade and 4.30pm at The Sovereign Light Cafe. We will go for a local ride and a tea room visit in-between shoots.

Anyone with a penny farthing or early bicycle particularly welcome. This will be a big local affair with music and involvement of many local clubs etc.

Meet time & place : 2pm at The Amusement Arcade (Map : click here) and 4.30pm at The Sovereign Light Cafe on Bexhill seafront (Map : click here)

Route / Distance : 1/4 mile filming, with an optional 1 mile second local ride and tearoom stop in-between shoots. (Nobody will be left behind).

Bicycles : Class 1 - 5. Any bicycle accepted but pre-1980 classics or retro bicycles appreciated if you happen to have one. If your bicycle was built after 1980 suggest dressing it up with a tomato box / wicker basket / flowers etc. to make it look older. The flying of Union Jack flags and the attaching of Classic Cycle posters to bicycles is definitely encouraged! - (Can be downloaded from here).

Dress code : Tweed / vintage attire. Please find something in the spirit of the antique to wear!
